Onion Rings

2-3 big sweet onions, peeled and sliced thin into rings

2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk

Slice onions and let them sit in dipping mix for about an hour.

Mix in gallon size ziploc:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon seasoning salt (or regular salt, can use less than 1 teaspoon if desired)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup panko crumbs

Heat the oil to about 350 degrees.

Drop onions, a batch at a time from the egg mixture into the ziploc bag. Toss to coat well. Drop into hot oil.

Keep in oven on warm until all the onions are ready...it you can keep your husband from eating them as they come out! :)
